Sears Wish Book
February 1st, 2008Wow, this brings back the memories! Today I found an old Sears Christmas Wish Book under a bunch of old blankets in my sister’s old trunk in the attic. Man, this one sure shows its age.
For decades, the Sears Wish Book was holiday tradition in our house. We kids would dog-ear certain pages, circling the items we wanted, hoping that “Santa” would look to see what we wanted. Of course, not all our wishes came true, but there were always good things to be found on Christmas morning.
After 14 years of no Sears Wish Book, in 2007 Sears again started sending out Wish Books. But instead of the 700-800+ page books of my day, they are now 150-200 pages. I have a feeling they are hoping online shopping will make us “oldsters” forget about the Wish Book of our youth. Those were indeed the days!
